Loving-Kindness!
“Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around. It’s overwhelming to consider the continuous opportunities there are to make our love felt.”
~ Leo Buscaglia
Experts say that what we do in the next couple of years will determine how we live our life on Earth for the next 1000 years. So, if you would like to live in a World that is filled with Love, Joy, Peace, Harmony, and Prosperity for all; I would like to invite you to take simple actions to spread Love and Kindness in the World. Here is how:
1. Practice the Loving-Kindness Meditation: sit in silence for a few minutes, focus on Your Heart, and send Love & Blessings as follows: A) To All Beings. B) To somebody you know. C) To Yourself.
2. Practice the Heart Coherence Technique, which was developed by HeartMath Institute. Here is how to do it:
-
Shift your attention to the area of your heart, and breathe slowly and deeply.
-
Activate and sustain a genuine feeling of appreciation or care for someone or something in your life.
-
Send these feelings of care toward yourself and others. This benefits them and especially helps recharge and balance your own system. Send love from your heart out to the people, and then to the planet.
3. Do Random Acts of Kindness
It has been proven scientifically that we experience positive emotions when we do Random Acts of Kindness, and also when we witness acts of kindness. If you would like to boost your happiness, be kind to someone else for no reason, and without expecting anything in return. Whatever you can give from your heart will go straight to their heart.
The recipient of the Random Act of Kindness will be uplifted, and most likely they will “pay it forward” to someone else. And that person may pay it forward again. Your Random Acts of Kindness could change the world.
Here are some examples of simple Acts of Kindness that you can do on daily basis:
-
Genuinely smile.
-
Give someone a compliment on their appearance (only if you mean it).
-
Pick up that neighbor you see walking from the bus stop and take them home.
-
Pick up trash along the road.
-
Let someone go ahead of you in line.
-
When you go out to eat, give a BIG tip for great service.
-
If you receive excellent service from someone, take the time to tell their manager.
-
Hold the door for someone coming in and out of a building.
-
Donate to a charity.
-
Give someone a hug.
-
Write a ‘Thank you’ letter to somebody.
-
Say “I love you” to your loved ones.
-
Buy groceries to a neighbour.
-
Take someone out for a meal.
-
Spend time with an elder.
-
Send someone flowers, randomly.
-
Take chocolate into work for sharing, without a reason.
-
Plant a tree.
-
Be nice to someone who looks sad.
-
Give food to somebody who needs it.
-
If a person appears lost or confused, approach them and ask them if they need some help.
-
Collect any clothes and blankets you no longer need and distribute them to people who need them.
-
Allow drivers trying to change lanes or merge onto the road, rather than speeding up to fill an open space. If someone lets you into an open space, make sure to wave and thank them.
