Studies suggest that cooking at home could make you Happier and Healthier, and it will save you money too.

When you cook your meals at home, you can control and choose the ingredients you use in your meals. You can choose healthier ingredients, and therefore avoid consuming the unhealthy ones that are usually used in cooking foods in almost all restaurants.

The way you prepare and cook your meals is as important as the ingredients you include in the meals you eat. Science revealed that certain cooking methods reduce inflammation and others cause it. Most diseases are caused by chronic inflammation. When you cook your meals, you can choose how you prepare and cook your food.

Cooking also makes you move more naturally, requiring you to go shopping, then washing, chopping, stirring, mixing, and lifting etc.

In addition to that, researchers have found that the health benefits from eating home-cooked meals goes beyond the nutrients in the foods consumed. It is also because of the act of cooking and eating together with family and friends and socializing, which is also important for our mental health.

In the healthy recipes series, I will share some of my favorite recipes, including desserts; some tips to make cooking healthier and easier for busy people, especially those who don’t like to cook, like I used to be; and how to avoid the biggest mistakes that even professional chefs often make in the kitchen.
