Happy Earth Day!

Happy Earth Day!

April 22 is Earth Day, and this year it marks the 50th anniversary of what is considered by many the birth of the modern environmental movement that started in April 1970, which focuses on raising awareness about the environmental concerns.

I invite you to help build a clean, healthy, diverse world for all living beings now, and for the future generations. There are many things you can do to contribute. Here are some ideas:

  • Start your own garden; or help launch a community garden. Plant Trees. Adopt some home plants, this will help clean the air inside your home.

  • Plant some flowers in your garden, or balcony, or on your windows to provide food for Bees, Butterflies and small Birds; this will make a huge difference, as they pollinate about 90% of our foods.

  • Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. Return hangers to the cleaners; donate clothing and computers to charities; use reusable bags and containers.

  • Avoid using plastic and cheap stuff. Use recycled items whenever possible, like for example recycled chlorine-free paper.

  • Use cleaning products that are natural and/or eco-friendly, and avoid the commercial harsh chemicals that are harmful to humans and the environment.

  • Communicate your priorities to your elected representatives.

Earth Day is Every Day! To build a better future for all of us, we must commit to living responsibly all year-round.

Remember, we need the Earth for air, water, food, and for our existence!
We Need Nature & We belong to the Earth!

I wish you a Happy Earth Day,
Every Day!

Waste Deep Short Documentary film

Waste Deep Short Documentary film 2

This documentary shows how food and plastic waste can be avoided, drawing attention to the unnecessary packaging that is choking our lives, the oceans and animals. It gives an insight into the environmental and social impacts of our wasteful ways.

Running Out of Time

This documentary features ecologist and conservationist Allan Savory. He founded the Africa Centre for Holistic Management (ACHM) in 1992, to support the adoption of holistic land management practices in Southern Africa in order to reduce and reverse land degradation that threatens the survival of mankind, as without healthy productive soil, we cannot grow food.

How to eliminate waste

The idea of using and reusing what you need so you don’t have to purchase anything new — as well as advances in material science, like electronics made of nanocellulose and enzymes that can help make plastic infinitely recyclable.
